SWIM AND PADDLE
FOR BOSTON HARBOR
SATURDAY, AUGUST 3, 2013
M Street Beach, South BostonPre-Registration closes at 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 1st.
However, swimmers may still register on-site on Saturday, August 3th between 9:00 and 10:00 AM.
On Saturday, August 3, Save the Harbor / Save the Bay will host a one-mile, championship chip timed, professionally staffed, competitive swim followed by a one-mile, chip-timed Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) competition.
Proceeds from the swim will benefit Save The Harbor / Save the Bay, while funds raised from the SUP competition will benefit both the Massachusetts Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation and Save the Harbor / Save the Bay.
The Swim And Paddle For Boston Harbor will take place at the BCYF Curley Recreation Center at M Street Beach in South Boston, which is among the cleanest urban beaches in America. Swimmers will follow the shoreline from the Curley Center heading west toward Carson Beach and return to the finish line at M Street beach.
The participant in the Swim and Paddle for Boston Harbor, who raises the most money to support Save the Harbor / Save the Bay and the work we do to restore and protect Boston Harbor and Massachusetts Bay, will win a round trip ticket on JetBlue Airways to any non-stop destination they fly from Logan Airport. To simplify your fundraising efforts, we encourage you to ask your friends and family to pledge you right on this website.
To join us at the party, you do not have to complete the one mile swim or paddle, but you do have to make a contribution of at least $25.
Four swimmers, (the first place male and female swimmers, with and without wetsuits) will be entered into a drawing to win a round trip ticket on JetBlue Airways as well. The top finishers in the Stand Up Paddleboard competition in both the male and female category will also be entered into a lottery for a roundtrip ticket on JetBlue Airways.
Swimmers, paddlers, supporters, and sponsors are all welcome to join us on the beach for an icy cold Harpoon beer and treats from Tasty Burger after the swim!
Registration for the swim is just $50. The race is open to both wet suit and non-wet suit swimmers. This year's race will be capped at 100 swimmers.
Registration for the Stand Up Paddleboard Competition is only $25. If you need a paddleboard, soft top boards can be pre-purchased for $25; performance boards can be rented on site.
